         9th, 10th, 11th, 12th
         1 Credit Per Year
         The focus of this course is on reading, writing comprehension, and communication to survive in an everchanging society.  Reading                the newspaper, menus, label and sign information along with the ability to complete forms (including a signature). Practice and                      expansion of language verbally as well as using alternate forms of communication, such as sign language or alternative

         communication devices, are also emphasized.  Course content is based on the Ohio Extended Standards for students with    

         disabilities.
